eStEaL It! Feature

With eStEaL It! feature it is possible to quickly set up your snipes without leaving the eBay's item page. The technique used is based on the Favourite link button you create in your browser, and click on that button when you are on the eBay item's page, that way the pop-up window brought to you automatically substitutes the Auction Number instead of manual copying and pasting it in the separate eStEaL window (you may be forced just to enter your eStEaL credentials upon making the bid). Various browsers use different algorithms of placing such button at the toolbar; below are some instructions for the most common browsers for Windows XP: Windows Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Opera. If you are using other kind of operating system and/or browser, please follow the same logics of adding the bookmark and placing it at the toolbar, since every common browser should support this feature.

Windows Internet Explorer

These instructions were tested as for the latest IE release 7.0.5730.11. If you have oldest or newest version of this browser, please follow the logics of the instructions, since the exact sentenses and/or screenshots may differ.

1. Links toolbar should be enabled before you start to use eStEaL It!. To enable it click View -> Toolbars -> Links. If you don't see the View item in the menu bar, press left ALT button on your keyboard.
   
   
   
   
2. Click the right mouse button on this link: eStEaL It!
3. Choose "Add to Favorites..." from the menu that appears after you right click. (If a "Security Alert" window pops up, click Yes and proceed.)
   
   
   
   
   
   
4. When the suggested dialog box appears, choose "Links" folder and click Ok to finish. Make sure that after this, the "eStEaL It!" links button appears in the Links toolbar. You can drag-and-drop it at any position you would like (for example, appearing at the front of all other default links, which you may optionally delete and sort as well).
   
   
   
   
   
   
5. When you are on the eBay's auction page, click the "eStEaL It!" button. In the latest IE versions, it is rectricted by default to load up the dynamic scripts. That's why most probably when you click the button for the first time, you will see a Pop-up blocker alert saying "Pop-up blocked. To see this pop-up or additional options click here..."
   
   
   
   Click on the appeared bar and either choose:
   
   - "Temporarily Allow Pop-ups" - this will enable pop-ups for the current browser session, you will need to confirm the pop-ups each time in the future when you click on the "eStEaL It!" button;
   
   - "Always allow Pop-ups from This Site..." - this will enable pop-ups for all eBay auction pages, and this is probably the setting you need to choose (as well as confirm the dialog saying "Would you like to allow pop-ups from 'cgi.ebay.com'?" - click YES to confirm it)
   
   
   
   - "Settings -> Turn Off Pop-up Blocker" - this will disable pop-ups for all websites, which would be a critically law level of security though.
   
   Then click the "eStEaL It!" button again.
6. If you have adjusted the security issues properly, the Pop-up window will offer you to enter your eStEaL credentials, username and password. After entering them successfully, you will be redirected to the sniping page, where everything you need to do appears the same way as in regular eStEaL section. You may study the Manual tips for more information, create new Bidding group, if necessary, and finally make your snipe, which will appear under "Pending Items" section. After your bid is successfully entered in the Pending Queue, click "Close" button to close the Pop-up window. Sniped in few seconds!

Mozilla Firefox

These instructions were tested as for the latest Firefox release 2.0.0.6. If you have oldest or newest version of this browser, please follow the logics of the instructions, since the exact sentenses and/or screenshots may differ.

1. Bookmarks toolbar should be enabled before you start to use eStEaL It!. To enable it click View -> Toolbars -> Bookmarks Toolbar.
   
   
   
   
2. Click the right mouse button on this link: eStEaL It!
3. Choose "Boomark This Link..." from the menu that appears after you right click. In the dialog menu, from the "Create In:" dropdown choose "Bookmarks Toolbar" and click OK adding the link. It should appear immediately in the Bookmarks toolbar. You can drag and drop it at the position you would like (for example, appearing at the front of all other default bookmarks).
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
4. When you are on the eBay's auction page, click the "eStEaL It!" button. Most probably the pop-up window will be automatically minimized in the Desktop Toolbar. Notice it amongst other basic programs and click on it, bringing it up. It will offer you to enter your eStEaL credentials, username and password. After entering them successfully, you will be redirected to the sniping page, where everything you need to do appears the same way as in regular eStEaL section. You may study the Manual tips for more information, create new Bidding group, if necessary, and finally make your snipe, which will appear under "Pending Items" section. After your bid is successfully entered in the Pending Queue, click "Close" button to close the Pop-up window. Sniped in few seconds!

Opera

These instructions were tested as for the latest Opera release 9.22. If you have oldest or newest version of this browser, please follow the logics of the instructions, since the exact sentenses and/or screenshots may differ.

1. Click the right mouse button on this link: eStEaL It!
2. Choose "Boomark Link..." from the menu that appears after you right click. In the dialog menu, from the "Create In:" dropdown choose "Bookmarks" and click OK adding the link.
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. When you are on the eBay's auction page, press F4 button on your keyboard. This will bring the "Panels" toolbar appearing on the left side. Choose "Bookmarks" tab and locate "eStEaL It!" link. Click on this link.
   
   
   
   The Pop-up window should appear which will offer you to enter your eStEaL credentials, username and password. After entering them successfully, you will be redirected to the sniping page, where everything you need to do appears the same way as in regular eStEaL section. You may study the Manual tips for more information, create new Bidding group, if necessary, and finally make your snipe, which will appear under "Pending Items" section. After your bid is successfully entered in the Pending Queue, click "Close" button to close the Pop-up window. Sniped in few seconds!
4. When you have completed the snipe, press F4 to hide the Panels/Bookmarks toolbar.
